Jack is a highly accomplished baseball player and coach with over a decade of experience in the sport. He began his career as a standout player at Newton North High School, where he played for four years, serving as team captain for two years and earning All-Conference honors as a Senior. His Senior season, he led the team in all major offensive categories, demonstrating his exceptional skill as a hitter and overall baseball player. He also won the Hamill award, given to the best high school baseball player in the city of Newton.
After high school, Jack continued his baseball career at Clemson University, where he played club baseball for four years. As a standout player for the Clemson club team, he was a 3 time all region player and lead the country in Home Runs his Sophomore year. He also player/coached the team his Junior and Senior seasons.
Alongside his playing career, Jack McLaughlin has also established himself as an outstanding coach and mentor to young baseball players. He has coached travel ball teams for players aged 10-18 for ten years, helping to develop their skills and achieve success on the field. His coaching has resulted in the placement of six players in collegiate baseball, a testament to his ability to identify and develop talent.
In 2015, Jack opened his own baseball instruction facility, Extra Innings Watertown. As the owner and operator of this facility, he provides top-notch hitting, pitching, and fielding instruction to players of all ages and skill levels. His passion for the game and commitment to excellence have made him a sought-after coach and instructor in the baseball community.
